Position summary:
Provides leadership and direction at site level. Drives execution of local and Corporate EHS business plans. Has overall responsibility and accountability for EHS results at a site level with complex development and production activities. Applies functional knowledge to design, develop, implement and oversee the site s environmental, health and safety programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities and to ensure that the facility is in compliance with regulations.

- Location: Tampa, FL (client on-site and not remote)
- Industry: Pharmaceutical
- Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm and on-call as needed
- Salary: Competitive within industry and bonus eligibility

Responsibilities:
- Works in a fast-paced environment to adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges.
- Initiates continuous development of the EHS Management System (EHS-organization, EHS-standards, know-how exchange, EHS-auditing, EHS-performance reporting and communication of EHS performance to the stakeholders according to the changing internal and external requirements).
- Uses expert knowledge to lead project teams of EHS professionals and other functional specialists, in complex site/multi-site projects.
- Ensure that site management follows corporate guidelines, including requirements as described in the Corporate EHS handbook.
- Ensures that site activities are in compliance with local legislation.
- Measure EHS performance at a site level and set goals for continuous improvement. This may include reducing accidents and injuries, minimizing emissions, recycling waste, and delivering training programs.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend changes to technology, equipment, systems, or processes to improve EHS performance.
- Anticipates, interprets and recommends solutions to business and regulatory issues.
- Represents the company in professional / industrial bodies to foster knowledge exchange and best practice in the EHS field.
- Plan, develop, and execute remediation projects using appropriate methods, technologies and protective equipment. Ensure that sites contaminated with hazardous waste and production by-products are cleaned up in accordance with government regulations.
- Security: ensure that security policies and procedures are in compliance with government regulations; knowledgeable of country-specific regulations for compliance purposes.
- Adhere to all defined Safety and Sustainability requirements and expectations and seek clarification whenever Safety and Sustainability requirements and expectations are either unknown or unclear.
- Promptly reports and takes actions related to identified Safety and Sustainability issues, problems, deficiencies, errors, incidents, and/or opportunities to management and correct where possible.
- Oversee hazardous waste operations in accordance with requirements for RCRA under 40CFR255.16 DOT 49 CFR 172.202.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Education Level Required: Bachelor s Degree and preferred field of study in environmental, safety, chemical engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years required.
- Experience within Pharmaceutical cGMP environment and handling/disposing of potent compounds.
- Must be willing to be hands-on, proficient with Industrial Hygiene.
