A growing Pharmaceutical company in Woodstock is looking for a Tool and Mold Maker to join the team for a contract to hire position.

The position is responsible for building and repairing injection and specialized blow molds and necessary tooling for automation and packaging equipment.

Tool and Mold Maker Description:
  • Build new tooling and mold design.
  • Ability to repair and maintain existing tooling/molds.
  • Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools, using machine tools and hand tools.
  • Meet deadlines and work under pressure with limited supervision.
  • Study blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies, jigs or assemblies.
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.
  • Must be able to operate and maintain all aspects of tool room machinery and equipment such as grinder, milling machine, lathe and CNC machinery.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge of shop mathematics and use geometric and trigonometric formulas.
  • Maintain effectiveness of the Quality System components relevant to this position.
Tool and Mold Maker Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of Accredited Apprenticeship Program.
  • 10+ years relevant tool and/or mold making experience necessary.
  • Computer Numerical Control (CNC) and conversational programming required.
  • Demonstrated mathematical ability.
  • Excellent oral and written communication; high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong Mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral.
  • Full complement of business computer literacy skills (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, database software etc.).
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects.
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Organized and detailed and multi-task oriented.
  • Works well under pressure and able to prioritize workloads.
  • Must be able to interact effectively with a variety of individuals and styles within and between departments.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak clear English.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen, reaching with hands and arms, talking, writing, listening
  • Occasional bending, grasping, carrying, stooping, kneeling, crouching
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 75 pounds
