Job Scope:

This position will complete basic calibrations, accurately complete required paperwork, and trouble shoot minor equipment issues. Schedule sending out calibration standard for re-calibration. Additional roles may include supporting maintenance staff in completion of work orders and routine maintenance. The calibration technician must use judgment within generally defined guidelines to identify solutions to problems and interact with management at Catalent Pharma Solutions as well as other departments to schedule activities around the production schedules of the cGMP manufacturing and process development departments. Participate in on-call rotation for equipment and facility after hour s response.

Essential Functions:
  • Uses hand tools, power tools and delicate testing equipment in performance of duties
  • Completes basic calibration procedures with minimal supervision
  • Completes maintenance request work orders for regulated and un-regulated systems
  • Effective documentation of Preventive Maintenance and Calibration under the GMP, development and research umbrella
  • Be available and respond to site as part of the on-call rotation
  • Schedule self-performed work assigned at beginning of month and due by end of month
  • Escort contractors through facility for routine deliveries or inspections. Ensuring they complete activities per procedure or agreements
  • Recommend facility improvements to meet OSHA safety, ISPE or FDA guidelines
  • Serve on Safety committee, environmental engagement committee or other corporate responsibility areas
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Familiarity with cGMP regulatory requirements for biopharmaceutical manufacturing or documentation required to meet NIST standards
  • Familiar with NCSL best practices is a plus
  • Knowledge of programmable devices and basic equipment controller set up
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Detail oriented
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak clear English
Physical/Mental Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day
  • May be exposed to inclement weather or be required to work in environments or under conditions that require the use of protective gear and/or awareness of personal safety and safety of others
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing ladders/steps, reading of written documents and use of computer monitor screen, writing, talking, listening
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, carrying, reaching with hands and arms
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift up to 80 pounds
  • A.A. degree in electronics or closely related field with at least 2 years of relevant experience
