Provides technical expertise to the Engineering team. Functions as a fully qualified visual database developer for the production of visual databases and moving models. Is responsible for designing and developing visual databases according to customer specifications and in compliance with Certification Standards. Must have a detailed knowledge of systems used to produce databases and models.

Job Duties:
  • Develops, verifies and documents visual databases and moving models
  • Responsible for identifying database design techniques, tools and processes for the development of visual and common environment databases to meet customer requirements
  • Provides cost and schedule estimates for database development
  • Identifies and recommends database development process optimizations
  • Identifies source data requirements for database production
  • Team worker with superior abilities to operate efficiently in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
  • Works closely with program and functional management to ensure that the system meets program schedule and cost requirements

  • College or University Degree or related experience in database development
  • Must possess at least 0-2 years experience in the visual database generation industry.
  • Must possess working knowledge of TerraVista or Lithos. Working knowledge of Arcinfo, Creator, Maya or similar database and modeling tools is a plus
  • Ability to design complex cultural features and geographical surroundings using graphic software tools.
  • Must possess understanding of testing techniques, spatial reference models and environmental data models Working knowledge of Common Database (CDB) is a plus
  • Knowledge and use of large area storage networks, data storage, archive and recovery systems, and networked workstations used in database development and production is desired
  • Desired related skill areas include:
    • technical writing and presentation, technical effort estimating, and task performance management
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to identify risk and cost driving design issues and report those issues to Project Management
