Facilities Technician
Position available for a large pharmaceutical company
7am-3:30pm M-F , 3 month contract to hire position
Paying up to $30/hr
Tampa, FL

Summary


The Facility Technician operates and maintains various facilities systems and functions. They are responsible to ensure equipment is functioning acceptably and to perform preventative and corrective maintenance. If equipment function is not acceptable, the Facility Technician will perform repairs or obtain contract expertise to maintain and/or repair equipment and return to proper function. While performing or overseeing the work of others, the Facility Technician will ensure that all company safety systems are followed and that documentation is developed and maintained per company documentation procedures.

Key Accountability
  • Perform and train others on routine work; utility system checks, waste and hazardous waste collection and disposal, preventative maintenance.
  • Provide oversight for external contractors with specific focus to ensure work performed safely and satisfactorily.
  • Perform repairs to building infrastructure as instructed such as: painting, drywall, carpeting, tiling, and patching.
  • Perform operation and maintenance activities on utility and mechanical systems such as: plumbing, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, steam system, air compressors, electrical.
  • Develop and or ensure necessary approvals (Work Permit, Change Controls) are in place prior to commencing work or allowing work to commence.
  • Recommend, specify and order equipment which may include setup and qualification. Also includes writing and execution of work permits, and support execution of change control and qualification protocols.
Requirements
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot support equipment at all manufacturing, packaging, warehouse, laboratory, development, and administrative facilities.
  • Must have experience with in GMP environment working with chillers, broliers, HVAC, cleanrooms
  • Highly desired, EPA Refrigeration Certification, an Electrical Journeyman (or above) license, or similar (plumbing, GC).
  • Will provide / support cleaning needs as required including: moping, vacuuming, sweeping, and washing.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, climb and work on ladders and elevated platforms.
  • Able to read, write, and communicate clearly technical information in English.
  • Comply with all state and federal regulatory requirements and guidelines.
  • As necessary, provide 24-hour emergency support and perform other duties as assigned.
