Field Engineer TS/SCI w/ FSP

We are currently hiring a Field Engineer with an active TS/SCI w/ FSP and experience with HPE Product line.

Location: DC/Metro area/North VA
Industry: Defense
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire; 1st shift Monday Friday (and after-hours rotation)
Salary: Dependent on experience, education, and certifications

Qualifications:
  • Must possess a TS/SCI clearance with a full scope poly
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Experience with HPE Product line is strongly preferred
  • Must be available for after-hours on-call rotation
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a field service support role providing break/fix hardware repair for server and storage systems such as Dell, HP or IBM servers, Cisco networking, and Hitachi or EMC storage arrays
  • Must have valid driver s license and reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance (required) as well as a willingness to travel to support clients throughout the southern MD, Washington DC, and northern VA areas
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair enterprise-level software and hardware issues. Excellent problem-solving skills where problems may be complex or hard to diagnose
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to work effectively with internal and external customers
  • Comprehensive business, technical, or functional knowledge
  • Must have working knowledge of Blade and SAN technologies
  • Technical background or significant technical understanding to communicate with customers and technicians for problem determination and solution implementation; Able to suggest operational efficiencies
Job Description:
  • Provide onsite and phone support to a customer base covering southern MD, Washington DC, and northern VA
  • Provide after-hours standby support for said area on a rotating basis
  • Apply technical knowledge to operate a technology area (e.g. server administration, technical security management, performance management) or customer group with moderate risk/complexity
  • Integrate technical knowledge and business understanding to create solutions for customers
  • Resolve most technical incidents independently within your technical area; work with team members to resolve more complex or cross-technology incidents
  • Identify potential escalations and alert management proactively
  • Begin to proactively and reactively provide solutions to prevent problems from occurring in area of responsibility
  • Apply solutions to meet moderately complex customer needs within area(s) of technical responsibility
  • Balance internal needs with customer needs within defined parameters
  • May identify additional services that could lead to future service revenue growth
  • Build strong relationship with management in assigned accounts
