Manufacturing Operator I

Title: Manufacturing Operator I
Location: Tampa, FL
Industry: Pharmaceutical
Hours: 2nd shifts available; 3:00pm-11:30pm, M-F (2nd shift). One must be available to work OT and/or weekends, holidays if need be.
Training for the first few weeks will be: 10:00am to 6:30pm
Salary: $18.50/hr. plus 5% shift differential on 2nd shift
Employment Type: Contract with the possibility to go perm

General Purpose:
Responsible for providing support functions to manufacturing process, including packaging, materials handling either under cGMP conditions or in compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Competent in performing activities such as raw material dispensing, sampling, media and buffer preparation, filter installation and sample preparation and submission independently.
  • Coordinate and perform activities including receiving and sorting return product and rework.
  • Disposal of product in accordance to the local regulations.
  • Perform tasks such as packing, materials handling, operate and maintain equipment in the respective areas of work.
  • Able to do trouble shooting in respective areas of work.
  • Identify areas for improvement and make recommendation.
  • Mentor less experienced workers to help them use production equipment or resolve problems.

  • HS diploma, AA/AS preferred
  • Basic computer and math skills required. Good written and oral communication skills Good mechanical aptitude Knowledge of metric system preferred Able to lift up to 25 lbs
  • Minimum two years experience with GMP manufacturing environment, pharmaceutical experience highly preferred
  • Direct compression, tablet coating, granulation or powder in capsule (encapsulation) experience highly preferred
  • Experience within a CDMO and/or CMO environment is a plus
  • Outgoing and works well with others, has whatever it takes to get it done attitude
  • One will be standing on their feet majority of the shift, may need to wear a respirator
