Job Scope:
  • Perform the development of the long-term schedule and daily production plans for both production and packaging and ensures their execution while minimizing inventory investment, supporting customer service level, maximizing resource utilization and level-loading the monthly schedules
  • Represent Supply Chain function for NPIs for capacity requirements and production capacity constraints
  • Communicate all production schedule information across cross-functional groups including Purchasing, Warehousing, Manufacturing, Quality and Site Leadership Team
  • Ensure that all decisions and changes decided upon in production meetings are updated into production schedules and effectively communicated to all relevant parties
  • Receive customer forecast data and enter into forecasting system in JD Edwards, and follow up with customers where forecast is missing
  • Ensure that all components that are required for supporting customer orders are on site and released when needed
  • Lead production planning meeting including preparation, distribution, and communication of the respective schedules, including the master schedule and the daily manufacturing and packing plans
  • Create work order and analyze the completion of work orders to ensure the appropriate and immediate disposition of any excessive or obsolete inventory remaining at the end of production runs
  • Provide schedule and data for annual planning, including scheduling simulations to estimate the costs and benefits of alternative plan
  • Model scenarios for the production plan using the resource planning tools and present the alternatives at senior management meeting
  • Set up and facilitate all senior management meeting ensuring agreement between capabilities, senior management as to both long- and short-term revenue commitments
  • Provide daily revenue progress reports versus forecast to senior management
  • Drive improvements to sales and operations planning process and ensure that the site is adhering to corporate standards
  • Provide leadership and guidance for establishing and documenting consistent processes for shop floor scheduling and overall execution of the master schedule
  • Lead weekly capacity meetings to establish target production levels for weekly manufacturing and packaging
  • Provide weekly performance information, including reviewing measurements on delivery and adherence to the master schedules
  • Communicate performance measures to metric owners and management and participate in improving these measurements with those directly and responsible for them
  • Suggest over-capacity and late delivery resolution, while updating plan and recording changes in the planning systems
  • Ensure that product data including item masters, BOMs, and routes are maintained correctly in JD Edwards
  • Manage the schedule and expectations with contract manufacturing vendors
  • Serve as an internal educator and consultant on MRP II issues
  • Optimize inventory and asset utilization while minimizing write-off exposure
  • Audit the accuracy of inventory planning data
  • Balance inventory investment with capacity allocation to optimize corporate and site goals
Skills Needed:
  • Bachelor s Degree in materials planning, procurement, or equivalent education and training
  • 5+ years experience in a production planning or master-scheduling role in an ERP environment
  • Experience must be in an FDA regulated environment, preferably biopharma industry, but food industry may also be considered
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Significant experience working in a cross functional role.
  • Read, understand, interpret, and apply technical writing and instruction
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements
