Title: Paramedic
Location: Miramar, FL

Hours: Flexible schedule up to 40 hours/week including weekends (will consider candidates who want part-time)
Salary: $17/hr.
Employment Type: contract position estimated up to 6 months

Overview
This position serves as an integral member of the site and study team including pre-admit, admission, orientation, conduct, discharge and study close.
Responsibilities
  • Performs conduct procedures in strict compliance to the study protocol, Good Clinical
  • Practice standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), QA/QC procedures, OSHA guidelines and other state and local regulations as applicable
  • Provides assistance in the monitoring of the well-being and safety of study participants during a clinical trial
  • Administers concomitant medications as directed by the physician
  • Provides ongoing assessment of the study subject/patient to identify Adverse Events (AEs), ensures proper documentation and reporting of all AEs and Serious Adverse Events (SAEs)
  • Provides clinical care to study participants in the event of a medical emergency
  • Provides administrative and operational support to ensure successful conduct of study protocols
Qualifications:
  • Active Paramedic licensure for the state of Florida is required
  • One to two (1-2) years of experience as a Paramedic
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above
  • Certification/Licensure: BLS preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (Other pertinent qualifications/skills/knowledge necessary to perform the essential functions of the job)
  • Able to obtain vital signs, perform ECGs, and collect samples
  • Able to perform telemetry and insertion of intravenous catheters
  • Possesses phlebotomy skills
  • Able to provide excellent customer service
  • Able to communicate professionally and effectively both verbally and in writing with participants from diverse backgrounds
  • Able to work independently and handle multiple competing priorities
  • Able to multi-task working within tight deadlines
  • Able to function independently within a team environment
  • Possesses excellent organizational and time-management skills and a strong attention to detail
  • Able to read, speak, and write English fluently
