Summary:
  • The Production Control Specialist maintains the master schedule programs throughout the production lifecycle using several tools including MS Project, Excell, and the internal ERP system. They provide material/build status on all programs, release requirements based on demands for purchasing, and work with procurement to resolve issues affecting delivery schedules.
  • The Production Control Specialist works with engineering/procurement to resolve issues with current and future part availability and makes recommendations to prevent problems associated with obsolescence. The Production Control Specialist controls release of material to promote a lean production workflow.
  • During production, the Production Control Specialist will incorporate engineering changes and assist manufacturing engineering with process changes during the development phase to ensure products can be manufactured efficiently, cost-effectively, and on-time.
Job Duties:
  • Monitor and audit the quality of all manufactured products to meet specified standards.
  • Test products to determine its lifespan and to improve its durability.
  • Analyzing product specification failure,
  • Work with the Quality Engineer to help determine root causes of product defects and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Conduct periodic audits of required manufacturing documentation.
  • Monitor inbound flow of materials and parts and make production rate and flow recommendations.
  • Determine all part requirements based on new engineering design releases and build to print designs for programs throughout product lifecycle for multiple DoD projects
  • Provide material/build status on all programs
  • Work closely with procurement to consolidate purchase requisitions to increase cost savings
  • Work closely with manufacturing for manpower loads based on inbound material
  • Use ISO manufacturing principles to promote a lean and efficient workflow
  • Assist in costing/estimating to establish material sales forecast
  • Work with program office to establish forecasts of material and labor based on estimated sales forecasts
  • Maintain delivery schedule
Education:
  • BSME, BSEE or equivalent
