  • Title: QC Technician
  • Location: Miami, FL
  • Industry: Pharmaceutical/Nutraceutical
  • Hours: Monday Friday, 8am-5pm
  • Position type: contract up to $16/hr.
OVERVIEW
  • Responsible for working with the Laboratory Supervisor to coordinate and assign Finished Product and Stability in-house and outside testing.
  • Responsible for coordinating all outsourced finished product testing in conjunction with the Laboratory Manager.
  • Log in finished product samples to the QC lab and create testing folders for finished product samples submitted.
  • Responsible for physical release and electronic transfer (in ERP system) of raw materials, including identifying which materials are allergens for proper segregation of materials in the warehouse.
  • Follow up with outside contract laboratories to ensure that results are reported on time as promised for release according to planning schedule.
  • Responsible for maintenance of retain sample area and fulfill retain sample requests from other departments.
  • Create and receive contract laboratory purchase orders (POs) in ERP system.
  • Maintain contract laboratory pricing list and create spreadsheets with pricing information of our products.
  • Prepare samples, shipping boxes and labels to be sent to contract laboratories.
  • Perform chemical waste neutralization as needed.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
  • Acts as back-up support to create/revise raw material specifications.
  • May assist the QC Supervisor or QC Manager/Supervisor as required.
  • May assist QC Analyst in daily duties as required.
  • Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
  • AA/AS degree is highly preferred in related science field. High school diploma with industry experience may be considered
  • At least two years of FDA experience preferably pharmaceuticals or nutraceuticals
  • Experience with various instrumentation is a plus; UV, IR/AA, titrations, GC, dissolution, HPLC
  • Good understanding of cGMP
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows, Word and Excel.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English written and oral.
  • Good analytical and observation skills.
  • Good knowledge of basic mathematical skills, including measurement.
  • Able to multi-task.
  • Able to follow routine verbal and/or written instructions.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Must have understanding and knowledge needed about safety SOPs and the requirements for the position to ensure a safer working environment. All precautions and processes must be adhered to in order to maintain a high level of safety compliance.
