Job Scope: This position is responsible for providing technical leadership and direct support in the execution and delivery of large Capital projects, including adherence to schedule and budgets, engineering design of new facilities (Basis of Design, Conceptual, and Detailed Design), and leadership of cross functional teams consisting of internal customers such as Manufacturing, Manufacturing Science and Technology and Quality Assurance to properly identify design needs.
  • Planning and execution of plant projects involving complex automation changes and significant process improvements including lump sum and CAR capital projects
  • Execute test scripts (design , execution, simulation, wet testing)
  • Own change requests and complete change request tasks to support project completion
  • Develop technical knowledge on manufacturing equipment and process automation systems
  • Provide SME support to Manufacturing and other departments for the design and operation of process automation equipment
  • Act as Controls engineering lead for tech transfer of new processes into the facilities
  • Participates in meetings and customer ad hoc meetings as Controls/Engineering SME
  • Review/revise Controls and Manufacturing related SOP s, Functional Specifications, work instructions, equipment/process changes, error prevention activities, etc.
  • Initiate updates to Engineering documents including engineering and electrical drawings
Requirements:
  • Bachelor s or Master s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Project management and coordination experience associated with the execution of capital projects in manufacturing environment is required
  • Experience implementing automation solutions in biotech/pharma or medical industry
  • Demonstrated experience leading manufacturing equipment tech transfers
  • Specific knowledge of cGMPs
  • Experience with control systems (PLC, DCS, Loop controllers) desirable
  • Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 11 requirements is a plus
  • Must be able to travel up to 75% on the east coast
