Job Scope:
The Division Vice President (DVP) is responsible for enhancing and expanding the transportation business, including but not limited to the executive management of: sales, marketing, account management, and operations. As a critical member of the executive management team, incumbent holds bottom line responsibility and leads the development and implementation of all short and long-term transportation strategies.

  • Lead and direct Complete Delivery Solution day-to-day operations to ensure all goals, objectives, and strategic initiatives are met or exceeded while maintaining targeted profit margins as the business grows.
  • Recruit, select, and retain highly qualified professionals, ensuring people are in place to drive results for a productivity-sustained work environment where personal growth is encouraged and realized.
  • Develop and implement critical market strategies, objectives, and sales plans to grow the business while developing relationships with key customers, partners, influential industry leaders, and potential customers to drive new business and adhere to "Client" Company strategy and purpose for Complete Delivery Solution.
  • Problem-solve issues that are barriers to expected operational results.
  • Develop and monitor operational metrics to evaluate productivity, qualitative goals, and problem resolution, ensuring business processes are, customer-friendly.
  • Develop, foster, and maintain relationships with key current and future customers, partners, and influential industry leaders to drive new business and ensure best-in-class value and customer satisfaction.
  • Apply an understanding of the transportation industry and customer trends to decision making to produce superior customer service through the use of best practices and the improvement of operations, productivity, and quality management.
  • Analyze key competitor products and features, selected financial metrics, and industry trends to benchmark Complete Delivery Solution performance to the industry and other companies.
  • Develop and foster strong working relationships and communication at all levels of the Complete Delivery Solution organization; fostering an environment of collaboration and partnership between "Client" corporate functional areas and subsidiaries to guarantee timely implementation of new strategies and coordinate implementation of corrective actions.
  • Proactively assess and review the regulatory transportation landscape for pending changes that impact business.
  • Ensure that the development and implementation of high-level short and long-term Complete Delivery Solution strategic plans to align and leverage the businesses within "customer" for maximized overall Company profit and capability.
  • Consistently support compliance and all applicable regulatory initiatives by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, accreditation, and licensure requirements, as well as the Company s policies and procedures.
  • Travels as needed for business continuity and success.
Desired Education and Experience:
  • Master s Degree in business or related discipline.
  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or other related discipline.
  • 10 years management experience within the transportation or logistic industry with a focus in operations, strategy, and business growth/expansion.
  • Demonstrated leadership capacity to assume direct accountability for operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully position transportation services solutions into niche markets.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate people to achieve agreed-upon results.
  • Prior Private Equity experience beneficial and desired.
  • Demonstrated strong innovative, strategic thinking capabilities, effective communication skills, and a proven track record of building and maintaining multiple effective partnerships to take an organization to the next level and beyond.
  • Specifically, it is important that the DVP have experience or thorough knowledge in the following areas:
  • Responsible for the profit and loss statement for a division or product line.
  • Track record of successful leadership within career, demonstrating advancement inside/outside of an organization.
  • Experience working within a midsized, ($20 million - $100 million revenue), business.
  • Proven track record of aligning management teams to ensure key organizational objectives are accomplished.
  • Expertise running a scalable organization without a heavy overhead load.
  • Proficient ability to bridge needs to customer expectations while maintaining strong profit margins.
  • Extensive contract management and negotiation experience.
  • Financial analysis capabilities, business acumen, and knowledge-enabling competence in detailed negotiations.
  • Capable of developing pricing and underwriting plans for prospective customers.
  • Capable of preparing and conducting external presentations unilaterally, as necessary, and able to think and respond creatively and appropriately with little preparation.
  • Experience in strategic planning and development.
