Virtualization Engineer

Job Duties:
  • Provide support within the hardware development engineering team
  • Support hardware development projects through and at each stage of the engineering lifecycle.
  • Resolve technical issues through diligent research, reproduction, troubleshooting, and automation.
  • Help ensure all hardware development work products and deliverables meet all requirements and quality standards
  • Identify, gather, analyze, and automate responses to key performance metrics, logs, and alerts.
  • Ensure adherence to processes
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders to project a thorough understanding of all activities, processes, procedures, etc.
  • Provide system designs for the virtualization enterprise based on ongoing customer requirements.
  • Provide roadmaps of technical implementation and changes required to meet future customer business requirements.
  • Analyze existing virtualization systems and provide engineering plans to align systems with approved architecture.
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience with most phases of the engineering lifecycle (Requirements, Architecture and Design, Testing, Implementation, and Sustainment) for projects and activities across a variety of collaborative technologies (voice/video/web conferencing, chat, presence, mobility, email, etc.)
  • Minimum of 1 year of related experience supporting a DoD IT organization
  • Minimum Security+ CE or equivalent DoD Approved 8570.01 certification
  • Preferred: Bachelor s degree is preferred.
  • Network virtualization and overlay architectures (SDN), design, and implementations.
  • Demonstrated experience with VMware vSphere products: i.e. vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, and NSX in production environments.
  • Experience implementing & supporting multi-site NSX high availability environments.
  • Experience operating, troubleshooting, and scaling virtualization services.
  • Adapt at learning and applying new technologies and solving new problems.
  • System administration of both Windows and Linux servers and services.
  • General understanding of enterprise directory services such as Active Directory and related technologies.
  • Understanding of common internetworking technologies and protocols, TCP/IP, OSI Models, well known services, data transports, routing protocols (BGP/OSPF), SDN, VXLAN, etc.
  • Understanding of system automation and orchestration is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of current collaborative technology platforms (i.e. Cisco, Polycom, Vidyo, Microsoft, etc.) with an emphasis on Voice/Video/Web conferencing is preferred.

  • Minimum Secret clearance required
