Senior Open Architecture Architect

Salary: $140k - $180k DoE

Location: Wright-Patterson AFB, OH (Potential Hybrid)

Clearance: Active Secret Required

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum DoD Secret Security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other related STEM degree required
• 8+ years of experience iteratively designing and developing software architectures required
• 2+ years of experience developing and refining open architecture standards required
• Experience with C++ and Java programming languages
• Experience with developing OA implementation strategies
• Experience with interoperability studies between OA standards
• Experience with cross-platform development (Linux and Windows)

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with at least one of the following OA standards: OMS, FACE, SOSA, MOSA, COBRA desired
• Experience with Data Distribution Services (DDS) desired
• Familiarization of avionics subsystems such as mission computers, navigation, communication links, weapons systems, electronic warfare and common avionics sensors desired

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Government in developing OA implementation strategies
• Survey and monitor progress of current and emerging OA standards
• Perform gap analysis to determine deficiencies in current OA standards and technologies
• Collaborate with the Government in the OA Management Standards Governance process
• Lead the preparation and submittal of changes to OA standards and documentation
• Architect and design software systems and systems of systems
• Lead the design of feasibility/interoperability studies for OAs
• Perform as the SME on OA standards and technologies
• Mentor engineers in the architecture of open standards
• Other duties as assigned
