Summary:
We are searching for a Business Development professional to support the growth of fuel cell and thermoelectric battery technologies with primary focus on US DoD and DoE customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, shaping, and capturing new business opportunities across government programs that require high-reliability power solutions for harsh and mission-critical environments.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic & Financial Leadership Business Development & Capture
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities aligned with fuel cell systems, thermoelectric batteries, and advanced energy solutions for DoD and DOE customers
- Develop and execute capture strategies for long-cycle government programs, including early customer engagement and requirements shaping
- Support proposal development efforts, including opportunity assessment, win strategy development, pricing inputs, and customer positioning
- Maintain an active pipeline of opportunities within defense, energy, and national laboratory markets
- Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a primary interface with DoD program offices, DOE offices, national laboratories, prime contractors, and research partners
- Build and sustain trusted relationships with technical, contracting, and program leadership
- Represent Company at customer meetings, industry days, technical interchange meetings, and conferences
- Technical & Market Insight
- Understand and communicate the value of fuel cell and thermoelectric power solutions, including system performance, lifecycle advantages, and mission applicability
- Collaborate with engineering, product development, and program teams to align customer needs with technical roadmaps
- Monitor market trends, funding priorities, and technology developments across defense and energy sectors
- Internal Collaboration & Planning
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, program management, finance, and operations to support successful program execution
- Contribute to strategic planning activities, including market assessments and technology investment priorities
- Maintain accurate opportunity data, forecasts, and customer intelligence in CRM and internal reporting tools
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field; an advanced degree is preferred
- Experience in business development, capture management, or technical sales within government or regulated markets required
- Working knowledge of DoD and/or DoE acquisition environments required
- Familiarity with fuel cell systems, thermoelectric batteries, or advanced power technologies required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Prior experience supporting defense, energy, or national laboratory programs
- Background in hydrogen, electromechanical, thermoelectric, or advanced energy systems
- Experience working with prime contractors or government program offices
- Must have strong customer relationship skills with high ethical standards and commitment to compliance
