Job Description
Cloud Software Engineer
Salary: $35 - $45/Hr.
Employment Type: 1 Year contract with potential for perm
Clearance: Active Secret
Location: Arlington, TX
Industry: Department of Defense
Required Qualifications:
Must have ACTIVE DoD Secret Clearance from Day 1
Must understand basic networking and have a desire to learn more.
Candidate should be self-motivated and possess the ability to collaborate effectively with teams to diagnose and troubleshoot issues.
Candidate should be a self-starter with strong organization skills.
Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Network, operating system, and virtualization experience
Experience with high order software languages such as C, C++, Java, Python
Experience with container management technologies like OpenShift, AKS, EKS, Rancher, Docker
Experience using a source code repository such as Git, BitBucket, Mercurial, or Subversion
Experience using a defect management system such as Jira, Bugzilla or Fogbugz
Responsibilities:
Support the development of open architectures and applications, infrastructure, and cloud platforms to ensure they are best suited for Cloud deployment and consumption.
Support the adoption of Cloud best practices and supporting technologies to enable such capabilities as DevSecOps, Big Data/Analytics, AI, Micro-Services.
Support the architecture, design, development, troubleshoot, and implementation of cloud solutions
Work closely with the Cyber Security team to ensure the applications and solutions designed and deployed are secure and compliant.
Approach problems with curiosity, see things from different angles, and offer workable solutions that meet or exceed customer needs.
Report status on tasks and assignments.
Must be able to perform effectively as part of a project "team".
Generate preliminary and detailed designs as required for enhancements or modifications to existing designs with guidance from senior engineers, requiring the application of current industry design concepts and utilization of basic technical writing skills.
