Location: Draper, UT

As a Calibration Technician, you will apply knowledge of measurement science, electronics, mathematics, and physics to calibrate and maintain precision equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurements. Working in a laboratory environment, you will perform calibration procedures, troubleshoot instrumentation, and help ensure compliance with strict quality and industry standards. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical problem solving, working with precision equipment, and contributing to quality and accuracy in critical industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Calibrate inspection, measurement, and test equipment (IM&TE) to ensure compliance with published specifications and quality standards
  • Perform calibration in one or more disciplines including acoustical, dimensional, RF/microwave, mechanical, thermodynamics, DC/low frequency, optical, fluid, chemical, and time & frequency
  • Maintain secondary and working calibration standards used to support laboratory measurements
  • Perform troubleshooting, basic repair, maintenance, and alignment of precision instrumentation
  • Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and perform corrective actions including adjustments, component replacement, or correction factors
  • Collect, analyze, and document measurement data gathered during calibration activities
  • Prepare detailed calibration reports and certificates for internal and customer records
  • Identify measurement errors and implement corrective improvements when applicable
  • Adapt calibration equipment and techniques to support specialized or unique measurement tasks
  • Assist with laboratory organization and housekeeping to maintain a safe and efficient workspace
  • Support and mentor junior technicians on calibration procedures and best practices
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Radio Frequency experience required
  • Minimum one year of calibration experience; formal metrology training may offset experience requirements
  • Ability to perform general math and algebra calculations
  • Basic troubleshooting, repair, alignment, and optimization of precision equipment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Basic computer and instrumentation software skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift up to 45 pounds without assistance
  • Occasional standing, bending, and movement within the laboratory environment
