Location: Brunswick, ME (will be required to work in office and in the field)
Pay: Up to $50/hr
Industry: Environmental/ Utilities
Shift: M-F 8AM-5PM (possible slight variance)
Type: Contract to Hire
Overview:
We're searching for a senior level Construction Inspector to join our client's talented team. As the Inspector, you'll oversee multiple construction projects at varying stages. You'll inspect work performed by construction contractors and supervised by Company representatives assuring adherence to company specifications, proper work methods, and appropriate use of faculties and equipment.
Requirements:
- AS Degree in a technical discipline or construction-related field required. HS Diploma and equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 5+ years or prior experience and training in excavation, road, or utility construction with an emphasis on electric installations, plastic pipe installation, welding, and steel pipefitting.
- Must possess managerial skills, computer literacy, and a working knowledge of the utility industry.
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings, maps, plans, specifications, and procedures.
- Must possess a valid driver s license.
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Job responsibilities:
- Gas Inspectors will be required to oversee construction projects on Gas Transmission and/or Distribution pipelines, gate stations, district regulator stations and downgrades.
- Inspector may be required to oversee multiple construction projects at varying stages at one time (from designing, including cost estimating to completed final folder close out)
- The inspector will be required to inspect work performed by construction contractors and supervised by Company representatives, assuring adherence to company specifications, proper work methods and appropriate use of facilities and equipment.
- Must possess the ability to keep accurate and detailed field records including daily job reports, material usage and locations and field test records.
- Be knowledgeable in the requirements of OSHA.
- All inspectors will be required to ensure that any job they re overseeing is maintained in a safe manner.
