Summary:
We are searching for an experienced Contracting and Procurement Specialist for a government contracting client, working for a government client, based out of Washington, DC. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the procurement process by overseeing the entire acquisition lifecycle, ensuring that contracts are properly negotiated, executed, and managed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Contract Management, or a related field. A Master s degree in Business or a related discipline, as well as contract management/procurement certifications is a plus.
- Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in procurement, contract management, or a related field.
- Proven track record in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
- Experience managing GSA Schedule contracts, IDIQs and/or BPAs
- Experiencing managing a wide variety of contract types Cost/Cost Reimbursement types, time and materials, fixed-price and variations
- Experience preparing for and successfully navigating through Contractor Purchasing System Reviews (CPSRs)
- Extensive knowledge of procurement principles, contract law, in particular FAR/DFARS regulations, as well as federal law and other federal regulations.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business application software, including procurement and resource planning systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible Research and identify prospective suppliers.
- Evaluate products and suppliers according to key business criteria.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues and concerns, and maintain accurate records of supplier performance.
- Prepare proposals, request quotes, and negotiate purchase terms and conditions.
- Draft, review, and manage contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Ensure all contracts are executed properly and maintained securely.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements.
- Analyze industry and demand trends to support senior management in developing sourcing strategies.
- Ensure all purchased products and materials meet company specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities; respond to requests for reports and metrics from senior management/program management.
- Conduct cost analysis to ensure goods and services are procured at the best possible price.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting to align procurement activities with company/program financial goals.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
