Schedule: 1st Shift M-F 7am to 3:30pm; 2nd Shift M-F 3:30pm to 12am

Summary:

The Design Engineer s primary responsibility will be to take ownership of one or more product lines and manage their design and development from initial concept through production. The successful Design Engineer will take a hands-on approach, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive continuous improvement in design processes while ensuring adherence to customer, industry, and applicable technical specifications.

Qualifications:

• Aerospace or Defense experience required.
• Ability to create and interpret technical drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Strong understanding of material properties and manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including CNC Machining, Non-Destructive Testing (Magnetic Particle, Pressure Testing, Dye Penetrant) and Mechanical Testing (Tensile, Hardness, Grain Size)
• Knowledge of design principles for various manufacturing techniques such as CNC machining and 3D printing
• Experience working in an ISO/AS9100 facility and conducting quality audits
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask with a high attention to detail
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

Responsibilities:

• Support customers design requirements from concept through final design review
• Develop and maintain technical drawings and design documents for various products
• Evaluate materials and design elements to ensure adherence to specifications
• Optimize design processes and improve production efficiency and product performance
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective
• Contribute to the research, design, and selection of tooling, fixturing, and gauging to be used in the manufacturing process
• Oversee equipment designs, modifications, upgrades, and automation
• Help to lead a Zero Injury Culture through actions and developing safe job procedures
• Other duties as assigned.
