Electrical Designer

Salary: $40 - $50/hr.

Employment Type: 1-year contract

Clearance: Ability to obtain Secret Clearance

Required Qualifications:

• Prefer a minimum of 15 years of related experience
• Associates degree or equivalent experience
• Have experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Have checking experience
• Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of ANSI and Mil Standards
• Ability to read and understand complex documents
• Ability to complete details of major layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices.
• Understanding of both AC and DC power
• Familiarity with Mil-Std. 100/1000 and ANSI Y14 drawing standards and aerospace documentation practices
• PDM Professional and Windchill experience a plus

Responsibilities:

• Plan, layout, and revise detailed electrical and mechanical drawings for detail parts, assemblies, and installation engineering drawings from basic layouts, established references, and standard data.
• Design and/or check drawings to ANSI/ASME specs and company guidelines
• Work well with a team in a design environment
• Ability to prioritize assignments and flexibility to adjust to highest priorities based on program needs.
• Mentor younger, less experienced designers and engineers
• Contribute design modifications to improve the quality of products or facilitate manufacturing operations
• May occasionally have to go to closed rooms, high bay, or other manufacturing areas in order to see the work that needs to be performed
