Responsible for evaluating, analyzing, and optimizing existing building systems and designs to enhance performance, energy efficiency, and energy resilience.

Overview:
Responsible for evaluating, analyzing, and optimizing existing building systems and designs to enhance performance, energy efficiency, and energy resilience.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise in power distribution and infrastructure, specifically in medium and low voltage distribution systems, including load calculations, short circuit analysis, arc flash studies, coordination studies
- Provide expertise in equipment support including generators, switchgear, transformers, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, panelboards, motors, pumps, compressors, and fans
- Provide support with controls and automation such as integration of electrical systems with building automation systems
- Conduct detailed evaluations of electrical systems both in the field and through electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, control schematics, and documentation
- Develop projects to improve resilience and efficiency of electrical projects including preparing project plans, scopes, budges, and technical specifications
- Conduct root-cause analysis for electrical failures
- Understand acceptance testing and periodic maintenance testing including infrared scans, insulation resistance, and breaker timing tests
- Understand NFPA 70, NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards to assist in developing project requirements and to ensure all recommended solutions comply with relevant codes, regulations, and industry standards
- Identify areas where energy is being wasted or used inefficiently. This could involve analyzing lighting systems, HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems, motors, control systems, and other electrical components.
- Compile detailed reports outlining findings, recommendations, and potential cost savings. These reports are often presented to clients or stakeholders to propose and justify energy-saving measures or system improvements.
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering required
- 5+ years of experience working with building and site electrical systems
- Power Distribution experience required
- Strong technical knowledge in electrical engineering, energy systems, and an understanding of building systems
- Strong communication skills as this role is customer facing
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass required background investigations
- Willingness to travel approximately 35% as project needs require
