Schedule: Sunday to Wednesday, 7:00 PM 5:30 AM

Job Description:

The General Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for operating, maintaining, and supporting a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This role involves scheduling and performing various activities and projects in compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.

Essential Areas of Responsibility:

  • Conduct regular inspections and perform preventative maintenance for facilities, equipment, and systems.
  • Maintain logs and records to support the operation and maintenance of critical systems, ensuring effective operation and cGMP compliance of all equipment and buildings.
  • Operate and maintain the central utilities plant for the site, which includes high-pressure steam, water boilers, centrifugal chillers, pumping systems, large cooling towers, air handling units, air compressors, purified water systems, waste water treatment systems, and other related support equipment.
  • Maintain the buildings and grounds as required, keeping them in the best possible condition.
  • Respond to service calls during and after regular working hours, troubleshoot and complete in-house repairs throughout the facility, and coordinate outside contractor support as necessary while providing support and backup for manufacturing and other maintenance activities.
  • Work during scheduled plant shutdown days.

Education/Certification/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strongly prefer a minimum of 3 years of facility maintenance and/or construction experience in a manufacturing environment, with a preference for experience in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or food processing industries.
  • Prefer a working knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and repair of plant utility systems.
  • Prefer experience and proficiency to secure Boiler Operator (High Pressure) certification and/or electrical licenses; prefer already licensed.
  • Prefer knowledge of and experience with HVAC and plumbing systems.
