Equipment Maintenance Technician
- Title: Maintenance Mechanic

The Maintenance Mechanic maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by troubleshooting and ensuring preventative maintenance and repairs are performed on machinery in the production area as required.
Essential Functions:
- Performs general maintenance duties required to maintain and repair production equipment; completes work orders satisfactorily
- Repairs or replaces defective machinery and mechanical parts as needed, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manual and manufacture s specifications
- Maintains required records of hours and materials expended for each job; prepares accurate inspection records, time sheets and work orders to reflect actual work performed
- Troubleshoot and solve problems after break downs.
- Maintains shop equipment in good working condition.
- Assist in solving technical problems on production machinery.
- Reads and comprehends technical manuals and schematics or other related instructional materials necessary to make repairs that comply with technical specifications.
- Ability and flexibility for On-Call schedules that will require availability to work some weekend, overnights and holiday shifts
- Other duties as advised.
Work Experience and Skills:
- Three or more years in related field.
- Able to effectively communicate in English, written and oral. Good general understandings of mechanical equipment like pumps, transmissions, etc.
- Basic understanding of complex mechanical systems and how they interface with individual components.
- Excellent understanding in the use of all basic hand tools.
- Experience in the operation of basic metal working techniques.
- Knowledge of basic electrical circuitry and industrial control application.
- Able to balance quality work and efficient output while working under strict deadlines to ensure machines are continuously operable
- Good analytical and observation skills.
- Good knowledge of basic mathematical skills, including measurement.
- Able to follow routine verbal and/or written instructions.
- Must have understanding and knowledge needed about safety SOP s and the requirements for the position to ensure a safer working environment. All precautions and processes must be adhered to in order to maintain a high level of safety compliance in a GMP environment.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Some mechanical courses in a technical school desirable.
- Some college education in a mechanical or related field.
- Mechanic: 3 years (Required)
- Maintenance mechanics: 2 years (Required)
- CGMP: 1 year (Required)
