Summary:
We are searching for a knowledgeable Corporate Accountant to join our defense client s talented team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the company accounting operations, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the companies reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in accounting or finance.
- 5+ years of Accounting experience.
- 3+ years of federal government invoicing operations.
- IPP (Invoice Processing Platform) and WAWF (Wide Area Work Flow) experience is required.
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint preferred.
- Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
Duties:
- Assist in the oversight of the general accounting and financial reporting functions including Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP).
- Oversee preparation of invoices; conduct Quality Control and submission of invoices
- Conduct transactional accounting activities such as AR, AP, fixed assets, adjusting journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly managerial reports and financial statements.
- Assist in the preparation and consolidation of budgets and financial reports necessary to control and assess the ongoing performance of the company.
- Comply with local state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Assist in the coordination and the preparation of the corporate annual tax filings.
- Assist the Senior Corporate Accountant as required.
- Compile information for submission to external auditors for annual audits.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirement: Ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Position requires ability to work on desktop or laptop computer, sometimes for extended periods of time, reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and providing recommendations, summaries and/or reports via email or otherwise in written format. May be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 15 pounds.
