The Information Technology Manager reports to the President and is accountable for managing information technology systems, staff, 3rd party resources, and the budget. The primary focus of this position is operating production systems, with a particular emphasis on ERP and Life Sciences off-the-shelf software and infrastructure services, including on-premises and hosted solutions. This person would coordinate with leadership to define required services and manage service delivery. Additionally, the IT Manager is responsible for creating and managing the entire budget for Information Technology department.
Currently, this position will be the leader of the IT organization. The expectation is for the role to be heavily involved in the organization s development and aligning IT strategy with business growth objectives. The role will heavily involve managing, leading, and maintaining relationships with 3rd party vendors, contractors, consultants, and managed service providers. Additionally, the position must advise and guide the organization on the intersection of business operations and Information Technology through effective and efficient coordination and collaboration across departments.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assigns 3rd parties, self, and any staff to support all software applications. Determines the primary stakeholder for each application and ensures support for stakeholders. In 2023 will look to hire between 1-3 employees and set up a new department.
  • Participates in senior staff meetings, presenting data and metrics representing the overall performance of IT service delivery, strategic alignment to business requirements, demand planning, any issue or problem mitigation steps, and resolutions.
  • Coordinates analysis, development, implementation, and support of all information technology databases and applications.
  • Responsible for establishing effective relations with software suppliers and consultants.
  • Participates in the Information Services Steering Committee, including analyzing requests, making recommendations, and creating financial and work effort estimates.
  • Develop and manage the IT expense and CAPEX budget. This includes capital, software, hardware, and operating budgets. Reconciles the budget monthly and reports monthly on budget status to the President.
  • Establishes procedures, documentation, and priorities to implement and maintain approved Information Technology services.
  • Develops, routinely tests, documents, and maintains a rigorous disaster recovery plan to ensure business continuity capability in any disaster that disables or disrupts IT operations.
  • Reviews, monitors, assesses, recommends, or selects appropriate technology software and hardware solutions.
  • Bachelor s degree is required as well as five years of IT/IS experience demonstrating increased responsibility over time.
  • Management experience with 3rd parties and IT service providers.
  • Lab Services and R&D in Life Sciences experience preferred.
