IT Project Manager

Salary: $50-$60/hr

Industry: Federal/ IT

Location Options: New York, NY 10003 (Hybrid)

Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

Requirements:

  • 4-year degree in Business or Computer Science and 5-10 years of relevant IT experience
  • 4-6 years experience in project management
  • Experience in business analysis, Agile framework using Scrum, Integration, and cloud computing skills/ experience desired or an equivalent combination of work experience and education.
  • Experience working in a Utility company desired
  • Data Center/ IT infrastructure, Communication Technology, Networking project management experience desired
  • Ability to obtain PMP
  • Certifications in at least one of the following SAFe Agile; Smartsheet, Project Management Institute Business Analysis (PMI-PBA) will be considered
  • A thorough understanding of business analysis (e.g., conducts user interviews, captures user stories, system requirements, assists with definition of system specifications and scope, analyzes requirements against existing system),
  • project management and application architecture or similar infrastructure or mobilization expertise
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, including the ability to remove barriers and enable teams to complete their objectives
  • Ability to articulate project objectives and relationship with organizational goals
  • Understands the business benefit of a project and how achievement of benefits will be measured/obtained
  • Sound business and technical acumen in 1-2 areas with the proven ability to articulate/collaborate on business processes and technical trends/systems
  • High level understanding of current and emerging IT technologies and processes; ability to collaborate during ideation sessions of how those technologies and processes can be implemented effectively in a large business environment

Duties:

  • Responsible for the delivery and management of multiple medium-sized IT projects (annual project(s) portfolio size up to $2.5M) running concurrently
  • Develops the project approval documentation, integrated project plan, resource plan, contingency plan, and related project management artifacts
  • Works with project team to develop estimates, schedules and work plans to ensure timely completion of a project or working group within a project
  • Assigns responsibilities and coordinates the activities of the team, including vendors and contractors
  • Prepare financial forecasts and provide on-going reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures
  • Directs the formation, execution and closeout of the assigned project so it meets project specifications and requirements and is delivered within budget and schedule
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop business requirements and user stories
  • Partner with business sponsors to define success metrics and criteria
  • Facilitate all operational checkpoint activities throughout the lifecycle of projects
  • Assess and resolve all high priority project risks as they are encountered
  • Ensure all projects adhere to project methodology compliance standards set by the company
  • Continually update relevant business stakeholder of project status and periodically publish project status reports
  • Serves as a subject matter expert to regularly brief key stakeholders on different aspects of assigned initiatives
  • Represents the project in various project governance and inter-departmental forums
  • Defines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan
  • Ensures all projects meet success parameters and ROI targets stated in business case
  • Mentors team members to develop technical and project skills; provides input for performance assessments and evaluations to Project Manager or functional manager
  • Demonstrates knowledge in Parsons business acumen and process and associated
  • industry technologies
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
