Overview
This role s primary responsibility is to become the Serialization Site Lead. Will serve as a hands-on SME to multiple Operations and IT processes and work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and IT in the optimization of processes and cost reduction initiatives. This position will also play an important role in helping to foster a culture of sustainable change through the creation and embedding of LEAN methodology and its supporting framework to deliver business transformation. The role must comply with Security, Environmental Health and Safety, and cGMP policies and regulations required by the job function.

Responsibilities
  • Serves as the Serialization Site Lead by providing serialization training and strategy; including providing industry insights and knowledge on DSCSA-related progress; and guidance on GS1 US and HDA serialization data and label standards as well as FDA requirements.
  • Serves as a technical and business liaison between Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and IT
  • Work with serialization suppliers in the implementation and coordination of upgrades and/or improvements
  • Provide feedback on artwork and labeling to support DSCSA compliance.
  • Provides guidance on standard operating procedures and related documentation to ensure completeness.
  • Analyze current practices and develop business process improvements as well as implement changes in workflows, structures, automation, and teams to ensure continuous company performance.
  • Developing process enhancement strategies.
  • Investigating shortfalls, issues, and complaints in current business processes.
  • Establishing norms and standards of company performance.
  • Monitoring performance improvements.
  • Collaborating with other stakeholders to enhance productivity.
  • Communicating ideas and opinions to other members of management.
  • Training, mentoring, and guiding team members in new processes.
  • Staying up to date with developments in management and process optimization

Education / Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT or Management from four-year college or university, or an equivalent; combination of education and work experience demonstrating capacity to perform the required duties. Four plus years of experience in DSCSA compliance, process optimization, operations, or business management.
Pharmaceutical supply chain experience with an emphasis on serialization data, knowledge of: The DSCSA, the FDA, GS1 and HDA standards. Exposure to serialization data provider solutions such as Axway, Optel, TraceLink, etc.; standard office equipment and software applications. Six Sigma Green / Black Belt would be beneficial. Ability to apply principles of logical scientific thinking to a wide range of issues to analyze and troubleshoot problems and identify solutions.

Judgment / Decision Making:
Candidate must demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility, integrity and ownership. Ability to analyze and interpret product quality and assess compliance impact, using risk based approach. Duties are performed within framework of departmental or functional guidelines, requiring decision making and original thinking, with minimal supervision.

Work Environment:
Air-conditioned office environment. Ability to be present in manufacturing facility.
Occasional extra or unusual hours required to meet schedules and deadlines.

Physical Demands:
Visual acuity and manual dexterity required to proofread documents and operate computer. Light lifting of boxes may be required.
