Client Overview:
For over five decades, our client has been recognized as the world s largest and most trusted producer of Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) eggs and adjacent laboratory products and services for the development and manufacture of biologics and vaccines that are used for both human and animal health. They supply leading manufacturers with critical bioprocessing inputs, including SPF eggs, antigens, and cell products. In addition, offer numerous diagnostic testing and manufacturing support services, including virus propagation and isolation, custom cell production, and quality control testing. They also support the development of new therapeutics by providing antibodies such as IgY for use in clinical trials.

Position Summary:
The Material Handling & Inventory Technician is responsible for the movement, storage, and tracking of materials within the Cell Products department. This role ensures inventory is accurately ordered, received, stocked, and distributed to support operations. The ideal candidate has experience in stocking, inventory management, and using Excel and ERP systems for tracking. Familiarity with Lean principles and two-bin Kanban systems is a plus.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate production of external orders with internal inventory.
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed. Coordinate intercompany shipments with the warehouse in Norwich.
  • Order supplies.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and packing lists.
  • Stock and organize materials in designated warehouse locations, ensuring proper rotation and labeling.
  • Pick, pack, and stage materials for production or shipping per order/customer requirements.
  • Perform cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using Excel and an ERP system.
  • Operate manual and electric pallet jacks to move materials safely.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized area to support efficient operations.
  • Follow all safety procedures and report any hazards or concerns promptly.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in material handling, stocking, or inventory management in a warehouse setting.
  • Familiarity with Excel and ERP systems for inventory tracking and reporting.
  • Understanding of Lean principles and two-bin Kanban systems (preferred but not required).
  • Willingness to learn and apply Lean inventory practices to improve warehouse efficiency.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs. safely and repeatedly.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Experience using manual or electric pallet jacks (preferred).
