Our client is the world s largest and most trusted producer of Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) eggs and adjacent laboratory products and services for the development and manufacture of biologics. Our history spans 60 years of innovation, growth, and setting global standards. We are actively looking to add an experienced Senior Laboratory Manager to join our team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing three production laboratories in three different facilities.
The Laboratory Manager is responsible for the production processes for several unique laboratories. In this role you will work with cross functional teams to drive business results, a continuous process improvement culture, and executing on our strategic plans.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Manage direct reports work requirement and performance. Provide timely feedback and guide them on performance/career and professional development.
- Responsible for department financial performance and KPI results.
- Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges for current and new product introductions.
- Communicate, coordinates, and supports other functions to achieve company objectives.
- Foster innovation to drive improvement in safety, quality, delivery, financial, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure full compliance and enforcement of all EHS, GLP, Regulatory, Product Quality, in accordance to company policies and government regulatory requirements/laws.
- Support company assigned projects and strategic initiatives.
- Establish operational objectives and assignments, delegating assignments to staff.
- Forecast staffing requirements across assigned function.
- Review and monitor operating budgets in functional area.
- Leverage technical expertise and problem-solving skills to root cause and implement sustainable corrective actions to address gaps in key performance metrics and quality system requirements.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor s degree in a related science field with 5+ years experience OR Master s degree in a science or business related field with 4+ years experience.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor direct reports and teams.
- Displays a positive attitude in the face of difficult or challenging situations.
- Can effectively shift approach when situation changes and make decisions without having the total picture or being given clear direction.
- Leadership skills to positively influence and motivate others, developing strong team culture across functions, with a proven ability to lead a team to deliver strong performance across department KPIs.
- Strong Quality Systems knowledge and experience of interacting with auditors.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- 3 years experience formal people leadership
- Continuous improvement - problem investigation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize and lead a team to deliver on commitments and meet business needs.
- Experience with CGMP, GLP, ISO/FDA, USDA requirements.
