MRO Aviation Technician
Location: Sarasota, FL 34243
Salary: $23-25/hour
Industry: Aviation/Manufacturing
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm (Enjoy a 3-day weekend!)
Summary: The overhaul technician performs maintenance, repair, and overhaul of complex aircraft components.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum prior experience in a mechanical profession required. 1-2 years in aviation/aerospace repair or repair shop experience preferred.
- A&P certificate highly desired but not required.
- Proficient in writing reports for quality.
- Ability to read and write in English required.
- Must be willing to be respirator trained.
- Must be able to assemble and troubleshoot complex mechanisms.
- Must be able to read and comprehend detailed technical maintenance instructions.
- Must be able to learn how to perform new tasks quickly.
- Experience using digital and analog micrometers and other tools.
- Understanding of electrical/electronic principles including Ohm s law.
- Experience with soldering and brazing preferred.
Job Duties:
- Performs hands-on maintenance tasks with complex mechanical, electrical, electronic and/or hydraulic aircraft components.
- Maintenance tasks include disassembly, cleaning, inspection, troubleshooting, parts requisitioning, repair, assembly and test.
- Uses and understands component maintenance manuals and other repair specifications.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area to a 6S standard.
- Understands or is willing to learn company quality management system procedures.
- Ensures all materials and calibrated tools are within expiration date
- Must work in a fast-paced environment where accuracy is paramount
- Accurately completes and takes responsibility for documentation of maintenance performed.
- May also perform build of similar new components per work instructions.
- Occasional painting and sand blasting activities, requiring respiratory training/PPE requirements.
- Must comply with the repair stations attendance and time clocking systems
- Maintain a minimum FPY rate of 90%
- Regular, predictable attendance is required.
- Must be willing to work overtime as necessary.
- Physical Demands: Sitting: 35% / Walking: 10% / Standing: 35% / Lifting: 20% (up to 25lbs alone, then with a partner/machine).
