Maintenance Mechanic

Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Location: North Wales, PA
Available Shifts: Nights: Mon-Friday 3pm-11:30pm (training on days for first 8 weeks)
Pay Range $25-$32 hr. DOE
Employment Type: Contract to Hire & Direct Hire

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Mechanic is part of a team that is critical to site operations and production uptime. This individual will be working on industrial equipment used in the production of powders and liquids. They will have additional responsibilities to support the facility operations. The company's maintenance team seeks to address emerging technical challenges efficiently and quickly while also implementing our preventive maintenance program to minimize these challenges. This individual is responsible for providing safe, timely and effective repairs to machinery and the facilities. This position will be completing scheduled/unscheduled equipment & facilities maintenance and repairs which will support efficient plant operations maximize production uptime, ensure that products are manufactured in a safe, cost-effective, and cGMP environment.

Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Troubleshoot & remedy problems with manufacturing equipment and controls systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to equipment to assure efficient and long-term trouble-free operation.
  • Follow SOPs to complete routine work.
  • Respond to any maintenance or facility emergency that occurs on the weekend off shifts (On-Call team rotation) and make necessary corrections.
  • Conduct equipment calibrations and repairs, as necessary.
  • Track job progress by completing Work Orders via Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Maintain and prioritize worklists.
  • Contribute to maintaining parts inventory via the CMMS
  • Communicate with the Team Leader, Maintenance Scheduler and Parts Buyer through shift handovers and email.
  • Keep individual and shared workspaces clean and organized.
  • Use Mechanics hand tools, power tools and specialized tools
Required Qualifications:
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • (3) years of experience
  • Strong mechanical/electrical troubleshooting and repair skills are required.
  • Preferred experience in a manufacturing environment in the areas of facility maintenance, machine maintenance and repair, equipment installation.
  • Safety and Quality-oriented.
  • Proficient use of electrical and mechanical hand and tools required.
  • Requires ability to lift 60 lbs., climb ladders and work at heights 10-20 feet above plant floor plus working on the roofs of the various buildings.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting controls systems, HVAC, boilers strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles including TPM, 5S, OEE, and kaizen preferred.
  • cGMP experience preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook preferred.
