Mission Planner

Location: Albuquerque, NM

Industry: Department of Defense

Employment Type: Direct Placement (6 month project)

Clearance: TS/SCI

Job Duties:
  • Responsible for quantitative & decision analysis, orbit determination, attitude modelling, and maneuver planning
  • Support mission planning through astrodynamics simulation and analysis via provided tools
  • Interact with software development teams to implement and validate capabilities to enhance provided tools
  • Interact with customers, mission partners, and various subject matter experts to collect necessary info to perform analyses, and to present results
  • Will act as a technical lead for limited aspects of a project
  • Support anomaly planning
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of experience with satellite operations
  • 6+ years of experience with orbital mechanics and flight dynamics, with experience in attitude & maneuver modelling
  • BS degree in Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work/military experience
  • Capable of resolving intricate, real-time prioritization and planning situations
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for direct communication with the customer and mission partners, and procedure generation
  • Ability to understand and use complex software applications
  • Strong knowledge of STK, GMAT, or similar astrodynamics tools
  • Experience with MATLAB, and using tools designed within that environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance

Preferred Skills:
  • Direct experience in an operational, space-based mission environment
  • Experience with rendezvous & proximity operation planning
  • Software development experience (.NET preferred)
  • Experience or demonstrated understanding of spacecraft from a multi-system view
