Network Systems Engineer

Location: Herndon, VA

We are seeking a Lead IT Systems Engineer with demonstrated architecture and systems engineering experience in support of US Government networks. This is a highly technical and hands-on position requiring the selected candidate to both lead and participate in multiple team environments and to provide independent efforts to all aspects of system integration including design, needs analysis, design review, testing, implementation, and validation. This position will be responsible for systems in support of Company s Government and commercial Managed Security Services platforms addressing .gov and critical infrastructure protection missions.


  • Bachelor s Degree in Information Technology or a related field
  • Strong experience with SolarWinds, SharePoint, Microsoft Exchange, IDS/IPS, HBSS, ACAS, Infrastructure devices, Remedy, Remote Desktop Services with thin clients, Certificate Authority, and Lync/Skype
  • Security related certification to comply with DoD 8570.01, IAT Level II requirements. (GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-S, CISSP, CISA, GCIH, GCED, or CASP)
  • Experience with Windows Server 2012 R2/2016/2019, SQL DB Administration, Microsoft System Center, Red Hat Linux 7/8, Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, and PowerShell required
  • MCSA or RHCE certification preferred
  • Demonstrate an understanding of balancing security risk, cost, and delivery requirements.
  • Strong technical skills and understanding of information systems, network protocols, firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, log management, network behavior analysis, vulnerability scan tools and processes.
  • Provide after-hours and weekend support on an on-call basis as required

  • Configure, maintain, and monitor Windows High Availability environments, McAfee ePO, SQL, System Center Suite (SCOM/SCCM/SCVMM), Solarwinds, Veritas NetBackup, Unitrends Backup appliances, SharePoint, Red Hat Linux, Remedy and Exchange servers
  • Understand patch compliance and system audit data.
  • Other duties as required
