Calibration Operations Supervisor

Hours: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm

Position Overview:
Manage day-to-day operations of a commercial calibration and repair laboratory to meet and exceed customer requirements and business objectives. Responsibilities may include oversight of technical operations, customer service, shipping & receiving, quality functions, and laboratory personnel. This role requires direct interaction with customers, internal leadership, and cross-functional teams while independently managing complex assignments, resolving operational challenges, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead daily laboratory operations and promote a culture of accountability, service, and operational excellence
- Manage departmental performance against financial objectives including Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility
- Oversee and control variable expenses while managing technical and administrative staff performance
- Maintain and support laboratory accreditation requirements and expansion efforts including UKAS, KEMA, and ISO/IEC 17025 standards
- Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies to reduce costs and improve service delivery
- Provide technical support for business and operational initiatives
- Assist technical teams with troubleshooting and resolution of complex calibration and TMDE-related issues
- Manage laboratory assets to maximize utilization and identify opportunities to expand capabilities
- Support leadership initiatives and strategic operational projects
- Recommend equipment and asset acquisitions with supporting business justification
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned
- Experience managing a technical service group in calibration, repair, manufacturing, or related industries
- Minimum 10 years of experience within calibration and repair environments
- Experience supporting Physical Dimensional, RF/Microwave, and general test equipment calibration activities
- Formal PMEL or equivalent technical training preferred
- Minimum 2 years of leadership, supervisor, or section lead experience
- Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation requirements preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds without assistance
- Occasional standing and bending required
- Primarily laboratory and manufacturing environments with occasional customer site support
- Domestic and international travel may be required
