Job Description
The Principal Scientist will lead a team in Dosage Form Development. The role requires a combination of technical expertise and leadership skills to allow the team to collectively deliver high quality results on client projects. In addition to oversight of client-facing deliverables, the successful candidate will develop processes and training to improve transfer of process and formulation information into the GMP manufacturing environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- May oversee the daily workflow of the department
- May provide constructive and timely performance evaluations
- May coordinate the work of other team members
- May provide technical guidance and direction

- Independently develops experimental protocols and templates based on project need
- Identifies and develops new technologies
- Independently summarizes, reports, and analyzes data to draw conclusions and proposes next steps
- Identifies out of trend data, forms hypothesis and investigates
- Evaluates data and draws conclusions across data sets/projects
- Independently interfaces with client, project management & operations to manage timelines and workplans and to effectively communicate technical information
- Acts as the technical point of contact for external partners
- Independently leads projects, and may act as SME to provide support and guidance for other projects
- Independently authors technical reports and presentations
- Independently defines problem statements and develops and manages workplans
- Contributes to developing and executing cross-functional program and product development strategy

- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
- Bachelor Degree (B.S.) in Science or Engineering discipline with 10+ years experience
- OR Master s Degree (M.S.) in Science or Engineering discipline with 8+ years experience
- OR PhD in Science or Engineering discipline with 3+ years experience
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Motor skills required for basic laboratory operations (pouring liquids, using utensils to transfer powders, visual assessments)
