Production Technician

Salary: $22/hr

Location: Sarasota, FL

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 years of manufacturing experience with the ability to perform all tasks within your department and become the department trainer.
  • Fundamental knowledge of electromechanical design strong enough to troubleshoot and repair most issues in one department.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and other manufacturing drawings and specifications. Must be able to read and interpret electrical wire, insulation, and chemical specifications to ensure material and procedures are used.
  • Ability to learn how to perform new tasks quickly.
  • Capable of training others within your work cell.
  • Ability to interpret test specs and set up Benchtop troubleshooting measurement equipment, including but not limited to Oscilloscopes, Instron Equipment, Voltage drop at rated current, Mass Spectrometers etc.)
  • Must be willing to undergo vision testing depending on customer requirements
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required!

Duties:

  • Perform assembly and hand operations with specific tooling (screw driver, ruler, calipers, wire strippers, hammer, wire cutters & scales).
  • Operate and adjust equipment following general instructions. Make simple set-ups and perform routine, preventative maintenance & maintaining weekly calibration.
  • Electrical testing (resistance and dielectric testing) and ability to test products as required and knowledge of power supplies, multi-meters and other equipment as necessary.
  • Verify calibration of equipment and tooling.
  • Supply accurate information on labor reporting, material, scrap and process. Detect and report to proper supervision unusual or defective conditions.
  • Epoxy preparation and applications called out on routings/drawings/process sheets. Ability to pull MSDS sheets as needed.
  • Execute repetitive assembly and hand operations on product delegated by leadership and/or due dates. Perform simple setups and perform routine preventative maintenance.
  • Conduct training for new employees in the product line to prevent single points of failure. Training encompasses various aspects, including basic tool usage, productivity calculation, inventory management (FiFo, Batch control, Scrap Tickets, Part ID Tags), raising concerns using the QRQC process, instructing on E-timer procedures, real-time completion of scrap tickets, and the ability to recognize and interpret bill of materials on both the DWG and Routing, ensuring proper documentation and alignment with revisions.
  • In-Process Validation as quality checks to verify that the product within the designated work area is assembled, tested, and marked correctly to ensure its accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Able to build product to print adjustments allowed within the process and benchtop test equipment including but not limited to multimeters and oscilisopes
  • Point of contact for new product development prototype builds and manufacturability consultant
  • Maintain organizational standards within the respective workstation, line, and department (i.e. 6S).
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as necessary.

Physical Demands: Sitting 35% / Walking 10% / Standing 35% / Lifting 20% (up to 30lbs alone, then with a partner or lift machine.
