SATCOM Engineer

Salary: Up to $160k/yr.

Location: Fort Meade, MD

**This position is currently 80% remote, 1 day on-site**

Requirements:

• BA or BS Degree (MS preferred)
• 10-15 years of hands-on experience with DoD and/or commercial SATCOM systems to include Systems Requirements, Operational Requirements, Test and Evaluation and Training.
• Experience with the Iridium satellite constellation, and correlated terminal devices
• Knowledge of terrestrial and gateway architectures and solutions.
• Career interest in SATCOM systems
• Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain TS

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain the Integrated Logistics Sustainment Plan (ILSP) for the two DoD Gateways.
• This entails an understanding of the components of the two gateways and how there failure will impacts services.
• Risk assessment and recommendation on where the government should invest limited dollars to best maintain all services.
• Technical analytical studies of satellite communications systems and recommend architecture designs and/or modifications
• Define implementation requirements; coordinates programmatic and technical issues with CSCO contractors and other government organizations
• Reviews contract proposals and make recommendations for resolving technical issues, as well as oversees testing and inspection activities; and participates in technical reviews or management evaluations among other related duties.
• Thinks independently and demonstrates exceptional written and oral communications skills.
• Applies advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts. Contributes to the development of new principles concepts and strategies.
• Works under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives.
• Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.
• Develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development towards execution.
• Perform technical reviews of all EMSS acquisitions packages, particularly PWS/SOW reviews.
