Senior Cost Accountant

  • Location: Bloomington, IN
  • Industry: Pharmaceutical - Senior Cost Accountant
  • Hours: 1st Shift - M - F 8am-5pm
  • Salary: Up to $45.67 hour paid weekly with benefits options
  • Employment Type: 3 month Contract to hire role

Job Duties:

  • Assist in the daily analysis of manufacturing variances. Follow up with operations to take corrective actions and make necessary financial adjustments
  • Review work orders with operations, ensuring they are closed timely, and related costs are captured correctly
  • Review BOMs, routings and new item costs for accuracy and completeness
  • Complete assigned manufacturing journal entries including but not limited to Cost of Sales accrual, absorption accrual & variance adjustments
  • Participate in annual standard cost review and update
  • Prepare and submit assigned inventory reconciliations including but not limited to raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
  • Assist in preparing, analyzing, and coordinating annual budgets and monthly forecasts
  • Support Supply Chain team in implementing and monitoring sound inventory policies and procedures
  • Assist in physical inventories and help review cycle counts to ensure proper internal controls are followed

Skills Needed:

  • BS/BA in Finance or Accounting required
  • Manufacturing experience required
  • Higher degree and/or CMA preferred
  • 3-5 years of cost accounting experience
  • Sound knowledge of US GAAP and cost accounting principles
  • JDE, OneStream, MS Office experience desired
