Senior Electric Engineering Inspector

Location: Spring Valley, NY 10977 (will be required to work in office and in the field)

Pay: Up to $55/hr

Industry: Environmental/ Utilities

Shift: M-F 8AM-5PM (possible slight variance)

Type: Contract to Hire

Overview:

Oversee a team of up to 5 Electrical Engineering inspectors on a variety of projects including transmission, Substation, overhead and underground distribution. Coordinate multiple projects in varying stages of construction, design, active construction and closing documentation. Be knowledgeable in the requirements of OSHA. Coordination and documentation of contractor manpower and material deliveries.

Requirements:

  • BS Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of related work experience.
  • 5+ years of prior experience and training on Overhead and Underground Electric Transmission, Substation, Overhead and Underground Distribution, Environmental, Facilities and other types of electric utility projects.
  • Will be required to oversee the construction of the above mentioned major electric projects.
  • Must have strong computer skills including strong expertise with MS Office.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Job responsibilities:

  • Document daily activities of contractor work including any out-of-scope activities and associated costs.
  • Coordinate all materials issued, transferred, or returned to company storerooms and document all required transactions.
  • Coordinate activities between contractors, subcontractors, local agencies, and O&R personnel.
  • Witness, approve, and document all specified testing procedures such as transformer acceptance testing, concrete testing, etc.
  • Document daily activities of contractor work including any out-of-scope activities and associated costs.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, maps, plans, cuts, sections, and specifications.
  • Must maintain conformity to Company safety and environmental requirements on all construction projects.
  • Must be able to understand and implement all Environment, Health, and Safety Plan (E-HASP) requirements.
