Senior Electrical Revit Designer

Salary: $30/hr-$48/hr DOE

Industry: Defense/Engineering

Location: San Antonio (Hybrid, 3 days in office, 2 remote)

Schedule: 9/80 schedule M-F 7AM-4:30PM

Employment Type: Contract with potential to go permanent

Overview:

Our client is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer with electrical power system design experience on industrial facility projects for our San Antonio, TX office.

Requirements:

  • AS Degree, Technical Degree, or certificate of completion from an accredited electrical designer course is preferred.
  • 5+ years of Electrical power system design experience for industrial facilities.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD MEP design software experience is required. Proficiency with Revit, and MicroStation design software experience is a significant plus.
  • Knowledge of Electrical design practices including drawings, specifications, codes, building materials, and construction techniques.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team of engineers and designers on multiple, concurrently executed projects.
  • Good organizational and communication skills. Expresses ideas concisely and clearly, both orally and in writing.
  • Proficient in the use of office personal computers, office networks, and the Microsoft Office suite of software (Word, Excel).
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize a CAD workstation to prepare difficult and complex 3D and 2D layout and design drawings which meet company and industry standards and codes. Contributes electrical design input to project 3D design models.
  • Prepares CAD electrical design drawings of medium and low voltage facility power distribution systems from the electric utility interface point.
  • Prepares CAD electrical design drawings of emergency and uninterruptable power generation and distribution systems.
  • Prepares CAD electrical design drawings of miscellaneous Electrical systems such as lighting, grounding, electrical heat tracing, fire alarm, public address, security, card access, etc.
  • Prepares typical CAD electrical design drawings such as: single line diagrams; power, lighting, grounding, and other systems plans; electrical area classification plans; electrical equipment arrangement plans; cable tray layout plans and sections; conduit and cable schedules; motor control schematics.
  • Prepares typical electrical databases/spreadsheets such as: motor and electrical load lists; panel schedules.
  • Prepares lighting calculations.
  • Assists the Lead Electrical Engineer in maintaining the project design schedule and budget.
  • Confers and coordinates with the Lead Electrical Engineer regarding any missing information required for completion of the design.
  • Confers and coordinates with other disciplines to assure compliance with project requirements, company standards and procedures, industry codes and standards, utility company requirements, and client criteria.
  • Assures that company and client CAD standards and procedures are followed.
  • As a lead designer may direct, guide, and check the work of a team of CAD designers and CAD drafters on a project.
