Job Scope:
- As the Chief Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This leadership position requires a seasoned professional with a New Jersey state Red or Gold seal license, extensive experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, and a proven track record in managing engineering teams. The holder of this position will be the designated site individual responsible for operations of the Pressure Boiler, Refrigeration Plant, and Power Generation equipment regulated under New Jersey state license
Job Requirements:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of facility utility operations and maintenance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programs to ensure the reliability and longevity of equipment and systems.
- Lead a team of skilled engineers and technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a high level of performance and productivity.
- Accountable for all responsible persons who maintain or operate utility systems at the site, ultimately ensuring compliance with site, local, state and federal requirements.
- Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering department.
- Ensure that the facility and engineering operations adhere to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) guidelines.
- Collaborate with regulatory affairs teams to address and resolve compliance issues.
- Act as the site Subject Matter Expert on all matters associated with N.J.S.A 34:1 Boiler, Pressure Vessels and Refrigeration Plants Act and Regulations.
- Develop and implement strategies for optimizing the performance of utility equipment and systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement engineering solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Assures equipment fitness for use throughout its lifecycle ensuring alignment and capability with the site s objective and strategy.
- Assist in the development and management the engineering department budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Evaluate and recommend capital expenditures for engineering-related projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- 10+ years of applicable industry experience will be considered.
- NJ State High Pressure
- Possession of OSHA/IOSH certification is essential.
- Possession of valid and current NJ Grade A / Gold Seal or Grade B Red Seal
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role within pharmaceutical manufacturing, demonstrating a strong track record of success.
- Proven experience in maintaining an impeccable safety record within a cGMP manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated record of hands-on operation and management of Pressure Boiler, Refrigeration Plant, Power Generation, and Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning Equipment
- Cross-Department and Site Collaboration:
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across various departments and sites, fostering a culture of teamwork and shared objectives.
- Experience working closely with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals and resolve complex issues.
