Senior Systems Engineer

Location: Troy, Michigan (hybrid)
Industry: Dept. of Defense
Duration: 6 month contract only (temporary)

Pay: Up to $83/hr.
Clearance: Ability to obtain Secret clearance

Summary: Serve as the primary technical authority and team manager for software projects developed in support of our Department of Defense customers. Responsible for driving development efforts from requirements gathering through delivery, while mentoring and guiding a team of developers and a tester.

Requirements:

  • BS Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of systems engineering
  • 5+ years hands on MBSE with SysML in defense/aerospace
  • Proven experience with SysML tools (Cameo, Enterprise Architect, IBM Rhapsody, etc.)
  • Proven experience with requirements tools (DOORS/Doors Next, Jama, Polarion)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability convey technical information to both engineering and non-technical audiences
  • Must be able to work on a fast-paced schedule with tight deliverable deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to effectively collaborate in multidiscipline engineering environments
  • Good technical leadership, planning and organization/control skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
Duties:
  • Establish and run an MBSE based requirements management process.
  • Build SysML models for sub systems and develop use cases.
  • Produce Modeling, Simulation & Analysis (MS&A) artifacts.
  • Define system interface and conduct Ground Force Mobility (GFM) integration analysis.
  • Work daily with Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) in compliance with DoD policy.
  • Set up and maintain a secure MBSE-based requirements repository.
  • Ensure full traceability from system requirements to design, verification, and validation artifacts.
  • Create SysML use-case, activity, block-definition, internal-block, and parametric diagrams for all components while ensuring they meet INCOSE MBSE guidelines.
  • Draft MS&A documents covering assumptions, simulation setup, verification and validation results, and uncertainty analysis.
  • Populate a central system-model repository in CAMEO with reusable libraries, parameter sets, and data dictionaries.
  • Produce ICD/IDD documents
  • Perform Ground Force Mobility (GFM) integration analysis
