Job Description

Aircraft Simulator Technician


Location: Philadelphia, PA

Industry: Dept. of Defense

Clearance: Ability to Obtain

Duration: 6-month Contract to Perm

Salary: $35-$40/hr.


Qualifications:

  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent related training.
  • Minimum of 2 years direct simulator experience with at least 1 year of relative simulator experience per assigned location.
  • Proficiency with all types of test equipment.
  • Proficiency with software diagnostics and utilities on at least 1 type of simulator.
  • Ability to perform in-depth analysis and research for hardware modifications and upgrades.
  • Demonstrated ability as the Technical Expert on at least one major simulator system (i.e. motion, visual, aircraft systems, etc.).

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced visual system troubleshooting and tuning, including experience with BARCO SIM7Q & F35 projectors, and Medallion 6000 visual systems
  • A+ and/or Network+ accredited with a strong understanding of various computer network topologies and troubleshooting techniques
  • Experience with S3000 and SIMXXI series simulators
  • Simulator accreditation/certification with civil authorities such as FAA, CAA, etc.

Duties:

  • Possess a basic understanding of Windows 2000, XP, and Windows 7 operating systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
  • Assist in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
  • Diagnose and correct complex problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
  • Utilize a maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities.
  • Perform pre-flight and post-flight on all simulators.
  • Perform visual alignments.
  • Run and evaluate required Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Approval Test Guide (ATG)/ Qualification Test Guide (QTG) tests.
  • Assist Engineering Team with modifications, design changes, and software enhancements.
  • Perform refurbishment and hardware modifications.
  • Learn and comply with the quality management system.
  • Perform logistics duties, including parts received, repair, and testing/validation.
