Soldering Technician

Salary: $35 - 38/hr.
Location: Orlando, FL (On-Site)
Industry: Government/Defense
Employment Type: Long term contract with potential for permanent employment
Shift: 1st Shift
Clearance: Active Secret


Qualifications:

  • Associate degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or minimum 5 years of relative experience.
  • Solder certification (J-STD-001) to repair cables and harnesses.
  • Must have experience with testing electro-optical components and/or systems as well as working with test equipment for these types of components.
  • Knowledge of the operation of general purpose and/or automated test equipment
  • Familiarity with industrial standards, military specifications, and industry processes
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds.
  • Ability to work with hazardous materials.
  • Ability to mix and weigh chemicals.
  • Ability to properly safety wire assemblies and connectors
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Must have Active Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities:
  • Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time.
  • Installs, upgrades and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change.
  • Maintains effective customer communications and relations.
  • Provide technical expertise working with other sustainment engineers in troubleshooting and repair of assets which requires active involvement with data, wiring diagrams, test equipment, software programs and the depot operating procedures.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and issues, determining technical solutions in accordance with product and customer specifications and taking the proper actions to repair and return serviceable hardware back to the customer.
  • Perform depot level repairs, rework, modifications, refurbishments of specific components of the system.
  • Operate general purpose test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, network analyzers and waveform generators) and uses basic AC/DC theory to read, interpret engineering drawings and schematics to conduct fault isolation of faulty components.
  • Candidate will perform limited supply duties (load/unload equipment).
