Aerospace Tubing Technician

Location: Merritt Island, FL

Salary: $38.85/hr

Industry: Aerospace/Manufacturing

Employment Type: 6 month assignment w/ potential for extension or conversion

Shift: Friday to Sunday, 6am-6:30pm

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ Years CNC Operating Experience.
  • 5-7 years of Aerospace experience.
  • Knowledge of drawing review, scheduling systems, work order systems, inventory, and various issue tracking systems.
  • Ability to use standard mechanical tools, fabrication shop equipment (band saw, chop saw, grinders, drills, etc.)
  • Capable of using precision tools to accurately measure tight tolerances (calipers, height gauge, scales, etc.)
  • Ability to work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities.
  • Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • 3-4 Years CNC tube bending experience highly preferred.
  • CNC programming experience.
  • Tube bending experience (CNC and Hand Bending).
  • Ability to use of 3D CAD tools (CREO is preferred), and ability to read and interpret GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard.
  • Experience measuring and inspecting tube assemblies using a vector measuring machine.
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware.
  • Clean room experience

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development, fabrication, and inspection of tubes and tube assemblies for space launch vehicles.
  • Utilizing automated bending equipment, you ll develop and create assemblies that will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedication, commitment, and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.
  • Work with engineers to review design concepts, provide feedback for ease of assembly, and support development tests.
  • Review, edit and follow work instructions for assembly tasks.
  • Climb ladders and stairs, and work in small, restricted areas. Lift and carry 25 lbs
  • Ability to work off-shift, extended overtime, and weekends if/when vital
  • Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission and vision
