Title: Ventilator Patient Specialist
Location: Southborough, MA - From Wilmington, Salisbury, Lynn, and Methuen Massachusetts territory

Salary: $33-39/hr.
  • Candidates are eligible for a sign on bonus of $2000 gross to be paid around start and another $2000 after 90 days of continuous employment
Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm

Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified Ventilator Patient Specialist to join the team. In this position, you will be responsible for managing a set number of ALS and/or Pediatric ventilation patients within a defined territory; will be the primary contact for patient, caregiver and any other entity directly involved with the patient s ventilation care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Available for on-call assignments as needed, responsible for phone consultations during non-business hours
  • Maintains continuing education as necessary for performance of job responsibilities and as required for state licensure or certification
  • Maintains documentation of all services provided and all work performed per company policies and procedures
  • Maintains records and workspace in an organized, safe, clean, and neat fashion
  • Maintains up-to-date licensure certification or other requirements per state law in the state(s) of practice
  • Supports orientation and training of other personnel at the direction of the Manager
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by state licensure law or by the Manager
  • Patient assessment
  • Provides patient education as applicable
  • Sets up all highly technical respiratory equipment
  • Monitors ongoing function of highly technical respiratory equipment

Employment is contingent on

  • Valid driver s license in state of residence with a clean driving record

Education and/or Experience
  • Completion of an accredited program/degree in respiratory care preferred; nursing (RN) may be acceptable depending upon state licensure laws
  • Credentials as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) is preferred but other medical credentials may be acceptable (e.g., RN) depending upon state licensure laws
  • Home respiratory care experience is preferred or equivalent hospital experience
  • May be required to obtain license in neighboring states as required by defined service area of location
  • Must be licensed in primary state of home office as required by state law and provide a copy of license to the location
  • Pediatric and/or ALS Ventilation experience is required
  • Proficient in the use of equipment download software (Care Orchestrator, Astral, etc.)

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) or Home Medical Equipment (HME)
  • Maintain confidentiality and practice discretion and caution when handling sensitive information
  • Make appropriate recommendations for changes to patient care as dictated by patient assessment
  • Review patient charts and discern compliance with company s policies and procedures
  • Self-motivation, organized, time-management and deductive problem-solving skills
  • Sense of urgency and responsiveness to physicians, location employees and patients

Physical Demands
  • Requires contact with patients and equipment with potential exposure to contagious pathogens
  • Requires occasional lifting and transporting of patient equipment
  • Requires sitting, walking, standing, talking, and listening
  • Required to comply with company Respiratory Protection & N95 Mask Fit Testing Policy
    • Medical Evaluation and Fit Testing Compliance in a timely manner
    • Annual Recertification
    • Keep face clean-shaven to ensure N95 Mask face-seal protection per OSHA guidelines
